Hayward AquaBug/Penguin/Wanda the Whale Screen – Black

The screen – black is a replacement part that was made by Hayward. The same high-quality materials were used to manufacture the original factory part. Making this a genuine OEM product.

This screen was made to help add an extra layer of filtration as some of the water that passes through the rear of the cleaner can be littered with fine dirt and debris. This screen was designed to filter this debris so that way it doesnt make its way into the cleaner where it can block or cause damage to the cleaners Internal gears.

The part rests on the backside of the cleaner and is black to match the color scheme of the cleaners, making it easy to identify when trying to locate. Now if you are trying to troubleshoot an issue with the cleaner not turning or changing direction, could be due to the filter screen being clogged and not allowing the water to travel fluidly through the cleaners backside, you will need to remove this debris and clean the screen to restore the turning ability to the cleaner so it can cover the entire surface of the pool.
