Polaris Vac-Sweep 280 / 180 / 280 TankTrax Pressure Cleaner Drive Shaft Assembly (C86)

The drive shaft assembly is a replacement part made by Polaris. Making this a genuine OEM product.

Like vehicles that have four wheels, they all have something that gives them the power and ability to move. In most cases, this comes from a drive shaft. However, this shaft in particular gets its power from the turbine that is located on its end. Above that is a turbine cover w/ elbow which takes the high-pressure water coming from the feed pipe and shoots it directly to the turbine. This rotating power is then sent to the wheels enabling the cleaner to move around the pool as it sucks and pulls dirt and debris from its surface.

The shaft itself is metal and the turbine on its end is black, making both parts easy to recognize when looking at the internals of the cleaner. It can be found near the front of the cleaner where it sets into the frame and is protected by a few other parts. These would need to be removed before exposing the shaft for replacement or repair.
