The sweep tail cap is a part that was made by Pentair. The same high-quality materials are used to manufacture the original factory part making this a genuine OEM product.

The cap is gray and is meant to cover the tail sweep connection on the back. If you do not have or want a tail sweep, the cap will cover the back so nothing will get into the cleaner. You cannot run the cleaner without some kind of plug, so the cap is the best option to make the cleaner run properly.
