This part sits atop the suction cleaner where thebody halvesandbody top covermeet, and its purpose is to allow the cleaner and the hose to rotate, aiding in the cleaner’s ability to move around the surfaces with ease and also preventing it from getting stuck in trouble areas.

The swivel is white with a threaded end so that way the male end of thehosecan fit over the top and connect to the cleaner, while also providing compression so that way the hose cannot detach itself as the cleaner operates.
