The in-line filter assembly was built with the purpose of filtering any dirt and debris coming from your filtration system via the return line. This then travels through the UWF and into the feed hose down into the cleaner where the pressurized water will power the cleaner. If this debris isnt filtered out of the water it could potentially clog and block the lines through which the water travels. Ultimately disrupting the cleaning capabilities and making the cleaner insufficient.

this part is white with a clear casing that visibly shows the screen for the in-line filter which allows you to see when and if the filter is clogged up and needs to be cleaned. In some cases, the filter may be damaged as well but you shouldnt worry as this assembly is meant to detach or open allowing it to be replaced if necessary.
